3aDitional+ Project Kicks Off in La Rioja, Forging a 3D Future for Traditional Industries

The Erasmus+ project 3aDitional+ has officially commenced, marking a significant step towards revitalizing the traditional manufacturing sectors of footwear, toys, and jewellery. The project’s kick-off meeting took place on March 17th and 18th in the picturesque La Rioja region of Spain. Hosted by the Footwear Technology Centre (CTCR), the project coordinator, the meeting brought together representatives from all partner organizations spanning Spain, Italy, Greece, and Slovakia.

This crucial initial gathering provided a platform for collaborative planning, setting the stage for the project’s execution. With a shared vision of enhancing the competitiveness of these traditional industries and securing future employment, partners engaged in discussions focused on integrating innovative 3D printing technologies. The project aims to achieve this by equipping older workers with essential new skills and attracting a younger generation to these sectors.

3aDitional+: 3D Training to Promote Traditional Manufacturing Sectors

The core objective of 3aDitional+ is to breathe new life into the footwear, toy, and jewellery industries by strategically incorporating additive manufacturing (3D printing). This integration is envisioned as a pathway to ensure the long-term competitiveness and employment within these sectors, with a dual focus on upskilling the existing workforce and making these fields appealing to young talent.

The successful kick-off meeting in La Rioja marks an exciting beginning for the 3aDitional+ project. As the partners embark on this collaborative journey, the project holds significant promise for injecting innovation into traditional industries, fostering skills development, and securing a vibrant future for the footwear, toy, and jewellery sectors across Europe.
